If you fancy the idea of writing pieces about fashion, celebrity or entertainment for a glossy magazine, then you’re not alone.
Up To Speed’s survey on magazine journalism has found that these glamorous topics are trending among visitors to our website.
In the past year more than 580 people voted in the magazine journalism survey and fashion magazines came out top with more than a quarter of all the votes.
Two-thirds of all voters wanted to work for consumer magazines and 58% of respondents gave “feature writer” as their dream job.
Just over a quarter of people taking the survey have ambitions to sit in the editor’s chair.
The course tutor at Up To Speed can certainly inspire anyone with these career aspirations. As the founder and editor of Listed magazine, Ali Wood has carved out her own career writing about entertainment and celebrities.
She now takes time out of her hectic schedule to help produce the magazine journalists of the near future on Up To Speed’s NCTJ-accedited Fast-Track course in Magazine Journalism.
The next course starts at the end of September and there’s still time for you to apply.
