Courses for Professional Journalists

Please select a course –

We specialise in Video Journalism at Up To Speed. We can run one or two-day training sessions in your newsroom using your equipment and editing software or you can study at our training centre.

At Up To Speed you learn how to operate a digital video camera and how to edit your footage using industry-standard Final Cut software.

But alongside these technical skills, our video journalism courses teach you how to construct and tell stories with moving pictures.

Professional camera operators and picture editors will train you in the technical skills and you will be taught video journalism by highly experienced television reporters and producers who can also show you how to make the most of the medium on the web.

The video journalism course is aimed at qualified print journalists who would like to be able to produce short video reports for their publication’s website or for those considering a move into broadcast journalism. No previous experience of video journalism is required.

Over the two days you will shoot, cut, script, and voice two complete news packages.
